I knew, I always knew.
When I saw you everyday, some part of me knew.
It was my appearance that caused the comments
That were meant to be hurtful lies
Ones I never knew would become the truth.
But they were
Because I had always known.
And in some way so did they.
And I was scared.
I had never wanted to become this way.
I never knew that love could feel so good,
so right (since it was never forced
like I had tried so long ago to deny)
You taught me that, yet you will never know
Exactly how I feel about you.
But I knew how I felt
Even then, never said.
We are classmates, at best.
A friendly hello in the hallway
A little joke, a little laugh
Yet these meetings are bittersweet
because I know I may never be with you.
And I still know I will not
And yet I still have foolish hope
And you are young and foolish too.
You say things I know you do not mean.
You are harsh when you mean to be helpful.
But I do understand that
And it has not stopped how I feel.
Because I knew, all along
Just how I felt about you
A crush at best it was
Born from lust of you
but evolved into something different
Not lust nor love
but something in between.
Something you will never feel.
And that I always knew
And I am the biggest fool of them all
I see things that are wishes, dreams
Because when I look at you from afar
Sometimes I see you look back.
And I know, I know
Yet the fluttering of hope
Does not.
And it's foolish, pitiful
But I am young and foolish
So I enjoy these feelings while I can
Before reality rips my dream apart.
Because all along, I knew
that this could never be anything
but a pleasant dream.

I Shot An Arrow In The Air
It Landed, I Knew Not Where
I Heard A Maiden Screem Alas
I Thought It Hit Her, In The Elbow......
teehee.....
And I've been told by my older friends that this never really goes away, that your heart and mind don't agree. Your heart goes out and your mind tries to reel it in, if you'll pardon this metaphor, but sometimes the hook doesn't catch. Worse yet, sometimes the hook catches and then begins to drag you along with it.
And if you're not careful, you might let go of your hook.

My love is a butterfly, floating through a summer field~
Your love is the entomologist chasing me down and ensnaring me in your net
And taking me home, jabbing a pin through my guts and mounting me on your wall
Your love is a pin through my guts
